This blog is being created for hunters to come and tell the world and amazing story about a time when they were in the woods. I want to see stories of success and stories of a not so happy outcome.
First, I want to tell you a story of mine that is one of my favorite mornings in the woods, I hope you enjoy. It was opening morning in first gun season in. This time of the season the bucks are chasing doe's real hard, responding to all types of calls and sequences of calls. Anyway, I get to my favorite tree, the tree I have killed a nice deer out of before. It was about 6:00am or so I had just sat down before light. I already hear some movement in the valley in front of me. I wait until it is time to shoot before I make any attempt to call at the deer that are in front of me. It is now about 6:45 or so and I decide to hit my Primos Estrus Call, "The Can", and as soon as I turned that call over once I had a monster 8 pointer sprinting toward my location. As soon as I see him just like every abbot hunter, my heart begins to race. The deer continues to hunt down where that sound had come from and before I knew it he was only 30 yards from me. I had an easy broad side shot at 30 yards and I took it. This deer went down no more than 50 yards from my tree and I was so relieved.
I think the best part of this story is that I had had to deer field dressed and back hanging in pole barn my 7:30, ate some breakfast, and got back into bed by 8:30. To most of you hunters, that is one amazing morning in the woods.
I would like to hear some of your stories now. Also, please comment on my story and ask questions. I am looking forward to hearing all of your triumphs and disappointments that all of us have endured in the woods.

Secret Revealed for "post rut" hunting
As you all have seen the rut has passed and the bucks are starting to pair up with others bucks for the winter. But what most people dont know about this time of the season is known to be a second rut. This so called second rut has been proven. The point of this rut is to ensure that all the willing doe's have been breed. Also, there are doe's during the original rut that still had a fawn with them, but shortly after the rut hense second rut, the doe's kick that fawn away and give a lst attempt to be breed for the winter. Although this secret isnt so popular just yet I am sharing it with you that way you may have some success in the later part of the bow season. During this rut it would be best to use maybe low tone estrus bleats and light grunts to enhance the reality. You may also at this time be able to tickle you rattling horns together to attract some larger deer in the llate season. Let me hear some opinoins on this rut, has anyone had success? Will anyone use these tips? Any questions?
